Charges and options
About our delivery service
- We deliver most items Monday to Friday 10:00am – 5:00pm
(delivery times may differ slightly between our carriers).
- Products may be sent out from multiple locations and therefore may arrive separately but there are no additional delivery charges.
- Items with different despatch times may be consolidated and delivered at the later despatch time, but usually no later than;
- Peninsula : Five (5) working days
- Sabah & Sarawak : Ten (10) working days.
- In cases of delivery to remote rural locations or on occasions when exceptional circumstances prevent us from keeping to schedule, the delivery may fall outside the published times.
Standard delivery
Standard delivery within Malaysia is available for all orders from https://metrojaya.com.my/.
There is NO charge for orders of any value if you opt to collect the items from MJ Department Store only. This is subject to availability of the items in-store and does not include gift vouchers.
Please note that we reserve the right not to deliver an order if we believe the address is not secure. Examples of such an address would be a communal postal address or a P.O. box. If this affects an order you have placed, we’ll notify you as soon as possible.
Delivery exceptions
- We deliver to most postal areas in Peninsula Malaysia and East Malaysia, but we’re sorry that geographical location and carrier availability can restrict our service. We may not always be able to deliver certain products too.
- There are small numbers of postcodes, usually in remote rural areas, where we cannot guarantee delivery within our usual timescales.
- If there’s no-one in when we deliver, our courier will leave a card at the delivery address confirming they have tried to deliver. Please follow the instructions on the card to rearrange delivery or collect your order.

You simply place your order online and we’ll have it ready for collection, please drop by and visit our physical MJ Department Stores to collect your purchases.
The service is available for most but not all of the items we sell. We’re unable to accept orders that include items for collection from in-store as well as items for delivery, so in these cases, please place two separate orders – one for collection and one for delivery.

For your protection against fraud, please bring the Order Acknowledgement sent to your email address together with your identification card as proof of purchase during collection.
We’re happy for someone else to collect your order, but to prevent fraud the person you’ve nominated must present your Order Acknowledgement and his/her identification card upon collection.
Self Pickup guarantees your order will be in stock at MJ Department Stores, as we’ll hand-pack your order to be placed at our Customer Service Counter.
Return & Exchange Policy
All purchases may qualify for a return or exchange within fourteen 14-days from date of receiving the item(s). Customers may exchange an item for a different colour or size and of equal value only.
The item(s) must be in resale-able condition with original packaging. For refund processing an invoice need to be attached upon return.
Please submit your request at Product Return and it will be reviewed by METROJAYA e-Commerce team. We will arrange to pick up and re-send the item at NO Charge if it is manufacturing fault. For example, or other reasons of return (the shipping charges will be borne by customer).
We reserve the right to replace with a new item of the same original order. Shipping charges are not refundable; all points accumulated will be deducted upon refund of the item(s).
IF returning an item that qualified you for a free-gift, please include the free-gift with your return. If you choose to keep the free-gift, you will be charged for this value.
Please note that your rights to return Products Does NOT apply to product which falls into the following categories, unless they are faulty or not as described;
- Skin Care, Cosmetics and Fragrances
- Undergarments
- Swimwear
- Made to measure or personalised goods
- Footwear and Leather products
- Stationary
An exception can be made for items deemed faulty and cannot be fixed or replaced by the store as per Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU.
What is your exchange policy?
- We are unable to accept exchanges online, however you can exchange your goods at any MJ Department Stores physical store within the location and district of purchase. (being prove of payment, or receipt print-out)
- Any purchases made on or after the second week shall be eligible for exchange either until the 15th or 30 days from the date of purchase, whichever is later. You can make the exchange for another product of your choice providing it is priced the same or higher than your original purchase.
- Please ensure that the goods are in resalable condition and that you bring your invoice as proof of purchase. All standard conditions apply.
RETURNS
Please retain your online payment receipt. METROJAYA is always happy to exchange or refund all item(s) using the original method of payment as long as the item(s) are returned in a re-sellable condition (with original packaging, tags and/or labels) within 30 days from the date of purchase.
If you do not have your original online payment receipt, we will allow customers to make a like for like exchange for the same item, or for the current value of the item, whichever is lower at the time of return. For example, you can change the size or the colour of an item.
RETURNING PRODUCTS TO A STORE
If you wish, you can exchange a product to a physical METROJAYA store located in the same country your online order was placed in. You will not be charged a fee for exchanging a product at a store.
However, please note that you cannot return a product to a physical store if you are cancelling your contract within the 14 days cooling off period as described below.
Moreover, our stores don’t refund online orders. To return an online purchase, please follow the steps on this page.
- You must take your Products to one of our physical stores within 30 days* of receiving the products, with the online payment invoice as your receipt. Find your nearest METROJAYA store by clicking here.
- The Tax Invoice must be presented and you will be asked for the reason for the return and whether you would like an exchange or refund. You will also have to present the original purchase card to receive a refund.
- Please note, any orders that have been placed not using a credit/debit card cannot be exchanged in any METROJAYA store. Should you wish to return an order that has not been paid for by a credit/debit card, please send this back to our warehouse following the steps below.

Please note we do not offer pre-paid postal returns. Complete the returns process on;

- Enclose the return note in your package (the sheet with the information about the items you want to return).
- Ensure the product(s) is in a securely wrapped parcel. Place the returns address label provided on the parcel (PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS LABEL IS NOT FOR THE CARRIER, YOU STILL NEED TO CHOOSE A CARRIER AND PAY FOR THE SHIPPING.) The returns address should be:

- Take the parcel to a Post Office or courier. Ask the Post Office or courier for your proof of posting certificate.
- The clerk will stamp the proof of posting on dispatch and you should retain this until you receive your refund.
- Regrettably we can only provide a refund for a lost return once we have been provided with a proof of posting certificate.
It is your responsibility to keep all return receipts, making a shipment by registered mail or by any other means necessary to enable a precise proof of the sending date.
DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS
If you are unhappy with any of your purchases and feel it may be defective due to a manufacturing fault, please do get in contact with us through our contact from (select topic: SUPPORT). Please do provide as much information as possible concerning the product and the order.
If you are a consumer and return a defective Product to us (which must be by post) we will examine the returned Product and will notify you of your refund via e-mail within a reasonable period of time.
We will usually process the refund due to you as soon as possible and, in any case within 30 days of the day we confirmed to you via email that you were entitled to a refund for the defective Product.
Products returned by you because of a defect will be refunded in full, including a refund of the delivery charges for sending the item to you and the cost incurred by you in returning the item to us.

What are the payment options available?
We use iPay88 for all credit card and online bank transactions.
What happens if I get an error message during the payment process?
This may happen when you experience an interruption with your internet connection. Not to worry, you may check the status of your order in ‘Order & Tracking’. Only orders with successful payments will appear in there. If your payment was not successful, please proceed to the ‘Checkout’ page and follow the payment instructions. Can I place an order for items that are currently ‘Out of Stock’?
Yes, but only for selected items. Do look out for the “Book” button on the product page. No immediate payment is required for successful Booking requests.We will send you an email when the stock is available, and you may follow the instructions to make your purchase.
Can I change the items in my shopping bag?
Yes, you can remove an item or change the variant/quantity of the item(s).
It has been 10 working days and I have yet to receive my order.

Will I be charged for cancellation?
No charges will be imposed if the item is not shipped. Shipping charges will only be deducted from the amount refunded to you once the item is shipped.
How do I know my shipping charges?

Can I ship to an address outside of Malaysia?
We currently do not offer delivery outside of Malaysia but we’re working on it.
Do you ship to P.O Box addresses?
No. We do not ship to P.O. Box addresses for now.

Privacy Policy
The Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (“the Act”) was enacted by the government to regulate the processing of
personal data in commercial transactions and to provide for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto.
METROJAYA is committed to ensure that your Personal Data is processed in accordance with the Act.
This Privacy Policy sets out METROJAYA’s policy and practices in collecting, using, processing and disclosing
your Personal Data. It also sets out your rights in respect of your Personal Data that is being collected, used,
processed and disclosed by us.

“The Company” means METROJAYA owned and operated by MJ Department Stores Sdn. Bhd. and shall include
its subsidiaries, affiliates and associates;
“We”, “us” or “our” means the Company;
“Personal Data” means any information in respect of commercial transactions that relates directly or indirectly to
the data subject, who is identified or identifiable from that information or from that and other information in our
possession, including any Sensitive Personal Data and expression of opinion about the data subject;
“Sensitive Personal Data” means any personal data consisting of information as to the Data Subject’s physical or
mental health or condition, political opinions, religious beliefs or other beliefs of a similar nature, and the
commission or alleged commission of any offence;

“Data Processor” in relation to Personal Data, means any person, other than the Data User, who processes the
Personal Data solely on behalf of the Data User and does not process the Personal Data for any of their own

- your personal details such as name, IC number, age, date of birth, race, address, gender, occupation, telephone number, mobile telephone number, email address, credit card number(s) etc;
- your image by way of video surveillance installed in certain parts of our premises as part of our security infrastructure;
- your image captured by camera or video when you attend promotional or other events held at our premises or otherwise organized by us, or captured as part of a promotional contest or other marketing activities; and / or
- information that is automatically collected when you visit our website such as IP address, web browser, cookies, software, transaction information and other information.
Business Partners (vendor, supplier, tenant or service providers)
- your personal details or that of your employees, agents and/or servants such as name, IC number, address, gender, telephone number, mobile telephone number and email address, and other details as is necessary for the conduct of the business transaction between you and us;
- when you and/or your employees, agents and/or servants visit our premises, your and/or their image by way of video surveillance in certain parts of our premises as part of our security infrastructure;
- your and/or your employees, agents and/or servants image captured by camera or video when you and/or them attend promotional or other events held at our premises or otherwise organized by us; and/or
- information that is automatically collected when you and/or your employees, agents and/or servants visit our website or use the platforms that we provide to our business partners for the purpose of conducting the relevant business transaction between you and us, such as IP address and any other information.
1.2 Please take note that certain Personal Data requested by us are mandatory which you must provide and agree to the processing of such mandatory information by us, failing which as may be informed to you at the relevant time of request or upon refusal to disclose by you, we may not be able to:

- pursuant to any inquiry, complaint, request or communication made with or to us, whether in physical hardcopy or electronically (including through our website or other platforms);
- when you visit our premises or attend events organized by us (in relation to CCTV images, other camera/ video images and other personal details collected for security purpose);
- when you submit your information on our e-commerce platform for the purpose of making purchases online; and / or through the use of cookies on our website and other internet platforms.

- for database(s) record keeping, maintenance and updating;

- to ensure the security and safety of the premises (in relation to CCTV images and other details collected for security purposes);
- to promote our products and services offered by us from time to time, and our Company (in relation to images and other Personal Data captured during attendance at events organized by us);
- to comply with any applicable laws, proceedings or inquiries from regulatory authorities and enforcement agencies; and / or
- for all other purposes incidental and associated with any of the above and/or required or permitted under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
4. Sensitive Personal Data
4.1 If you do not want your Sensitive Personal Data to be collected by us, please do not submit it.
4.2 If you do choose to submit your Sensitive Personal Data to us , such data shall then be deemed to be and will be treated by us as Personal Data which will be subject to the terms and scope of this Privacy Policy including for the collection, processing, use and disclosure of your Personal Data.
5. Disclosure
To facilitate the purposes stated above, we may disclose your Personal Data to the following classes of third parties:
- our subsidiary companies;
- selected financial institutions (in relation to credit card applications, only as allowed by you (in cases of joint campaigns and promotions));

8. Use of Cookies
8.1 When you visit our website or use our services through our web portal, our web portal may create a “cookie”. A “cookie” is a piece of information stored on our hard drive containing information of your computer. The “cookie” enables our system to recognise your browser and remember your name and billing information and other information so that you won’t have to retype it on your next visit.

9. How long is your Personal Data being kept by us?
Your Personal Data will be kept by us for the duration that is necessary to carry out the purpose of which your Personal Data was collected and also for other purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We are also bound by legal, tax, regulatory and industry requirements or guidelines for keeping records and retention of your Personal Data.

Where you provide Personal Data of third parties to us, you warrant and represent that you have obtained the required consent of the relevant third parties for the processing of their Personal Data in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy, and that all requirements of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 have been fulfilled in your collection and provision of the relevant third-party Personal Data.

- in certain circumstances refuse your request to access or rectify your Personal Data. In the event of any refusal, we will notify you the reasons for such refusal; and / or
- charge an administration fee for processing your request for access or rectification.

12.1 If you do not wish to receive offers, promotions and marketing materials on our products and services, please follow the instructions in Section 14 below.
12.2 If you would like us to cease processing your Personal Data for any other specified purpose or in a specified manner, please notify us in writing to the address set out in Section 13 below.
12.3 In the absence of such written notification from you, you are deemed to have consented to the processing, usage and dissemination of your Personal Data in the manner, to the extent and within the scope of this Privacy and Policy.

14. Opt Out Options
14.1 Direct Mail / Telemarketing
If you do not wish to receive any mails or calls from us with regards to our promotions or our marketing information please write to our e-Commerce team at the contact details set out at Section 13 above.

15.1 We may from time to time, modify or supplement this Privacy Policy. Those changes will become effective upon notices as follows:
- We will post a notice on the changes to this Privacy Policy on our website located at www.metrojaya.com.my for a period of 6 months after the changes are made; the revised version of this Privacy Policy will be made available on the website
15.2 Following the said notification, the continued use of our website and our services, and provision of Personal Data by you and/or absence of notification by you in accordance with the Privacy Policy, will mean you accept any and all the changes that have been made.
